Blood Eye follows the story of a young man, Osric, who is unable to remember his past due to an accident, which also left him with a bloodshot eye (hence the title). Because of this, he is feared by many in the village in which he now lives, and is said to be cursed. When Norse warriors come into his village, Osric finds himself able to communicate easily, leading to many seeing him as a traitor. This is the story of his transformation from Osric, a meek orphan, to Raven, a brave Norse warrior.
I will admit that I did not finish this book. However, it really was a great read, and filled with interesting historical context of medieval times and Viking goings-on. It is full of action and interesting characters, and the only reason that I did not finish is because it simply was not for me. I wanted to try something out of my reading comfort zone, and I am glad I did. In the end, it did not keep my interest- but not for the lack of being interesting.
The writing style is easy and comfortable, the story was adventurous and informative, and the characters were fun and slightly humorous. I am just not an adventure reader. This is what I have come to discover through this read, once and for all. However, if I did love adventure fiction, this would be a fantastic and epic story, and I would surely be waiting for the next in the series. So, if you are an adventure fan, or just want to try something different, give this one a shot.

I’m definitely an adventure fan. Thanks for the chance to win.
I tend to really love books like this, especially on audio … I guess I’m a sucker for a romping good adventure/battle story!
Thanks for being on the tour.

I like adventure provided there is a sense of danger. I have almost no interest in reading about someone traveling the world in a yacht. I have an immense amount of interest in reading about someone shipwrecked after their yacht crashed…or pirates came…or something like that.
