Rating:  4/5 stars

Worth the read?  Absolutely- for those looking for a kick-ass, sarcastic, and hilarious heroine with an entourage of supernaturals

The Short & Sweet of It:  Danley has really developed a great cast of characters, a multi-dimensional world, and a memorable heroin with this series- and she makes it seem effortless.  The books are easy reads, but manage to keep me turning the pages until the very end, all the while laughing my butt off as Maggie McKay finds her way into and out of sticky (sometimes literally!) situations in search of artifacts, demons, and other supernatural what-have-yous.  The world is believable and easily understood without too much description, and the dialog is pitch-perfect.  In addition, this series does not get bogged down with the torrid romance scenarios on which so many urban fantasies seem to rely.  I, for one, have been won over by the amazing and strong women (both Danley and McKay), and am eagerly awaiting the next installment.
