Recently, I have been noticing a lot of book covers that not only look very similar, but actually using the same graphics. Sometimes it is interesting to see the different ways the same image is manipulated to convey different ideas. However, I also find myself feeling a bit sympathetic for the authors who are spending so much time working with cover artists to create just the right look that will give meaning to their stories. Some of the cover doppelgangers have been creating controversy as of late, while others go unnoticed more often than not. So, I have decided to start showcasing the book twins, and putting them to the test.

This is such a fun idea! My vote is for the one on the right.
I also like the one on the right.
I don’t see how they can use such similar images on current titles. It feels like a copyright violation…or something! I like the one on the left. It fits together better for me, showing her separation from the image of the man in the bottom corner. On the right, I can’t figure out the connection between her face and those cookies. : )
I like the one on the right. The colors pop.
